Clinical and Etiological Observation on Atrial Fibrillation

Abstract

|
|
49 patients who had atrial fibrillation on ECG tracings were studied clinically & etiologically during the period from March 1971 to June 1972.
The results of studies were summarized as fallowings:
1. The incidence of atrial fibrillation was 1. 04% during the period of observation.
2. The mean ventricular & atrial heart rate were not conclusive.
3. In the cause of atrial fibrillation, mitral valvular heart disease 52.9,°0, aortic -valvular disease 8.0%, hypertension & hypertensive heart disease 9. 0%, hyper thyroidism 8. 0%, & no appearant underlying cause 6. 1%
4. In the electrocordiographic analysis, right ventricular hypertrophy & left atrial hypertrophy 33.7%, & pure atrial fibrillation 34.1%.
